When you want a piece of artwork for your wall, which of the following options do you choose.
A. Do you go out and interview artists, go through a couple of design iterations with them until you have a rough concept that you like? Do you then allow them to bring all of their equipment into your living room, and then wait as they spend weeks creating a masterpiece for your wall?
B. Do you go to a store and purchase a piece of unique one off and/or a reproduction of a work of art, go home, and hang it on your wall.
Don’t lie to yourself. You picked B.
So what the two-by-four are you thinking by constructing your homes with the traditional hire a contractor, architect, wait, delay, and repeat methodology?
Well, you weren’t thinking… mainly because you didn’t know you had other options. Pre-fabricated living spaces are the future of construction. I am not talking about buying a double wide and dropping it down next to a bunch of redneck neighbors. No, take a look at this.

These are pictures of a home pre-fabricated by a company poorly named Living Homes. I know that their brand name gives you the metal image of possessed home in a horror movie bent on eating your face, but in reality it is an LA based company that sells, builds, and installs amazing prefabbed homes.
In the future, pre-fabbed homes will be.
1. Cheaper
2. More environmentally friendly
3. Designed by posh architects, that you cannot afford
4. Much nicer than stick constructed homes of the same value
5. Quicker to install
6. Stronger
Economies of scale are your friend.
The obvious questions are, will my pre-fab home look like it was made with a cookie cutter?
No, it wont. Companies offer customized homes, and they offer completely custom homes. Heck, look around sometime, homes are currently cookie cutter looking.
Will my pre-fab home be as nice as a traditionally constructed home?
No, it will be nicer.
